Four childhood friends, bound by loyalty and ambition, navigate the turbulent 1990s in Moscow, where crime and power collide. “Brigada” became one of the most-watched Russian TV series of the early 2000s, gaining a massive following across Russia and post-Soviet countries. It remains one of the most iconic Russian crime dramas to this day.

The series authentically depicts the chaotic and violent atmosphere of post-Soviet Russia, where crime and corruption were rampant. Many elements, including the rise of criminal groups, political connections, and business takeovers, were inspired by real events.

The actors were trained by professional stunt coordinators and firearms experts to make the action sequences look as realistic as possible. The series features genuine weapons, including Kalashnikov rifles and Makarov pistols.

The series’ theme song, “Мы выбираем, нас выбирают…” (We choose, we are chosen…), performed by Belomorkanal, became instantly recognizable and is still associated with the show.
