Not Like Dad 2: Granddad with English and Russian subtitles is a 2025 Russian tragicomedy road-movie directed by Ilya Uchitel, a sequel to Not Like Dad (2020).

When young Dima runs away to his grandfather’s village, his divorced parents, Max and Irina, are forced onto a tense road trip with Irina’s new partner. Along the way, Max relives memories of his own childhood, first love, and fractured family, while three generations unexpectedly collide in a search that turns into a reckoning with the past.

Many scenes were filmed in authentic Russian villages, using local residents as extras to capture the atmosphere of the 1980s countryside.

Directed by Ilya Uchitel, son of acclaimed filmmaker Alexei Uchitel.

Several nostalgic songs from the 1980s were remastered specially for the movie.
