Guest from the Future with English and Russian subtitles is a 2024 Russian sci-fi adventure directed by Alexander Andryuschenko.
It follows Kolya, a typical modern teenager obsessed with rap, gaming, and his friends — until he suddenly finds himself transported 100 years into the future. There, he discovers a seemingly peaceful world rebuilt after an intergalactic war. But beneath the surface, remnants of the defeated space pirates are plotting to rewrite history, and Kolya becomes an unwitting part of their plan. As he navigates this strange new world, he meets Alisa — a mysterious girl from the future who challenges everything he thought he knew.
The film is inspired by the beloved 1984 Soviet TV mini-series Guest from the Future (Гостья из будущего), which in turn was based on the cult novel One Hundred Years Ahead by Kir Bulychev.
While the original story focused on time-travel and philosophical themes, the 2024 version adds a dynamic sci-fi twist, with intergalactic wars, space pirates, and a more action-driven narrative for today’s audiences.
The movie features impressive CGI and futuristic world-building, showcasing a richly imagined 22nd century — from high-tech cities to space battles and alien technology.
